A few words for our visitors:

Brava Island

Description:

Brava is the most southern of all the Cape Verde islands, and belongs to the Sotavento or Leeward group.
It is the smallest inhabited island.
Brava is a volcanic island, measuring just 64 km2. It has a population of approximately 7,000 inhabitants.
The island was affected by the Tropical Storm Beryl in 1982.
The island is humid (av. 85%), wet and misty, and quite unlike the other islands in this respect. Average temperatures are between 16° - 25 °C, making it cooler than the other islands.
Ilha Grande and Ilha de Cima are the two uninhabited islets to the North of Brava, which are part of its municipality.
The main economies of the island are fishing and agriculture. Lobster and other shellfish are in great supply.
Coffee, corn, potatoes, manioc and sugar cane are all grown.
The capital of the island is Vila Nova Sintra.
The islanders live mostly in small settlements, dotted around the island.
The island can only be accessed from Fogo, yet it certainly merits a visit.
There is plenty of fishing and hiking to be done, and photographers will love the scenery.
